Yumeakari Sake

Yumeakari Sake

Time to try some NEW sake at the shop!  Mr. Kikuchi from Asabiraki Sake Brewery will be at The Sake Shop on Friday, May 28th to pour some of their sake.  Asabiraki sake is new to Hawaii and is currently not available for sale yet.  Stop by the shop this Friday for a sneak peak and a first taste of something new!

We’ll be tasting two sake and one umeshu.

  • Yumeakari Junmai Ginjo or “Dream Light” is a mild sake with a smooth fruity flavor.  Made from 100% Hitomebore rice, it is actually milled down to 50% although the brewer has chosen to classify it as a Ginjo.

  • Nanburyu Junmai or “Southern Stream” is a well balanced medium dry Junmai.  Fragrant with some mild fruit flavors.

  • Ume Kanon (Umeshu) or the “Sound of Plum Blossoms” is the first umeshu we will be sampling at the shop.  It has a balanced sweetness of plum flavor with a pleasant acidity.

So please come and join us this Friday for a taste of Asabiraki.  Sake Sommelier, Ikkuko Shimizu, will also be joining us that evening.

As a side note, thank you to everyone who stopped by the shop for our recent Grand Opening Celebration.  It was two days of fun, friends and really good sake.

Kanpai,
Nadine and Malcolm
