Mizbasho Bash

Mizbasho Bash

Mizbasho is coming to town!  Mizbasho is a very popular sake from Gunma prefecture.  We’ve been selling a lot of it since we opened and we’re excited to annnounce a special tasting at The Sake Shop on Friday, April 26, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 7:45 pm.  Mr. Tomo Matsukuma with Silkroad Wine & Spirits will be at the shop pouring the entire Mizbasho line of their Junmai Daiginjo, Junmai Ginjo, Sparkling PURE & Sparkling Nigori.  Silkroads Wine & Spirits is the US importer for the Mizbasho line, and Mr. Matsukuma will be here to answer any questions you might have about the sake and the brewery.

As an added treat, we will also be pouring Mizuho Kuromatsu Kenbishi.  Kenbishi Sake Brewery is one of the oldest and most famous jizake in Japan. The brewery itself is surrounded by mystery as they do not open their brewery to the public or to the people within their industry, as most others usually do.

Their overall product portfolio is very limited as they only create a new sake when a new generation takes over the business. That is why Mizuho Kuromatsu Kenbishi is their first new product in almost 25 years and is also the first Junmai sake produced by their brewery.

Originally only offered as a “restaurant only” sake in Hawaii, Kenbishi is now available for sale at The Sake Shop.  Join us this Friday, March 26, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 7:45 pm for a complimentary tasting of Mizbasho and Kenbishi!  (This sake tasting was completed.  Hope you made it!)
