Sake Barrels
After many failed attempts and multiple false starts, we are finally ready to hold our Grand Opening Celebration! Please mark your calendars for May 15th and 16th, 2010! We’ll be celebrating at the shop all weekend, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Saturday and from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday!
Unfortunately there was no budget for taiko drummers or a fireworks display to commemorate this special occasion, but there will be lots and lots of complimentary sake to drink and be merry with! We don’t have our final tally just yet, but we’re estimating that we’ll be sampling close to 30 different sake over the course of the weekend!
On Saturday we will be pouring complimentary samples all day, with a special pouring from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm by Mr. Yoshiharu Suzuki of World Sake Imports.

On Sunday we will be pouring sake all day with a special sake barrel opening ceremony (kagami-biraki) at 1:00 pm, immediately followed by a special pouring until 4:00 pm by Ms. Ikuko Shimizu, Sake Sommelier with Better Brands.
We’re both looking forward to seeing everyone at the Grand Opening and as always, please remember to drink sake responsibly!
