Tamanohikari Mizore

Tamanohikari Mizore

Now that schools back in session, we thought we would officially end the Summer with a BLAST, an ICY BLAST that is!

Come by the shop this Saturday to try some SAKE SLUSHIES!  Affectionately known as “Juice Boxes” around the shop, many of you are already familiar with Tamanohikari Mizore Reishu Sake.

Throw a couple of these boxes in the freezer for a few hours and then pour out some tasty frozen goodness!  We’ve managed to procure a special freezer to use at our sampling this Saturday and we’re crossing our fingers that we’ll be able to pull this frozen treat off!

And just in case frozen sake is not your thing, we’ll also be sampling some other great regular sake including the rest of the Tamanohikari line along with Jinyu Junmai Ginjo and Hakkaisan Tokubetsu Junmai.  Here’s the breakdown.

Tamanohikari Mizore Junmai Ginjo
Used to make Sake Slushies.  See description above.

Tamanohikari Junmai Daiginjo
Also known as “Brilliant Jade”, this excellent sake from Kyoto prefecture goes down smooth with a crisp finish.

Tamanohikari Yamahai Junmai Ginjo
Made using the “Old School” Yamahai method, this sake tastes a little lighter than most Yamahai and finishes clean.

Hakkaisan Tokubetsu Junmai
“Tokubetsu” means special which is a great way to describe this dry and clean drinking sake from Niigata.

Jinyu Junmai Ginjo
Silky smooth sake from Chiba prefecture whose name is connected with famous 100 medieval poems.  See description to the left.

We’ll be sampling all day or until we run out of sake, so please stop by for a taste.

Kanpai,
Malcolm & Nadine
