The Joy of Sake Honolulu event has been scheduled for Thursday, August 19, 2010. It will be held once again at the Honolulu Academy of Arts from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Unlike last year, we are told that they are limiting the amount of tickets that are being sold. This should help to keep the crowd in check as last year there was quite a bit of people who attended.
Over 300 sake will be available for tasting along with food from 12 different restaurants. Tickets are $80 and special VIP reserved seating tickets are available for $150. We’re working on being able to sell tickets to the event from The Sake Shop. We’ll keep you posted.
There also a Joy of Sake event being held in Tokyo this year. The tasting takes place on November 2, 2010 in Gotanda, Tokyo. While the tickets are $80 as well, you’re going to have to budget a little more to cover the cost of airfare and hotel.

The Joy of Sake event was terrific! Capping off the number of people attending this year really helped to make things more enjoyable. It was much easier to navigate the Academy grounds and the food lines moved a lot quicker. Congratulations to Chris Pearce and the Kokusai Sake Kai for hosting a great party!
